Luisa passed away on November 2, 2026 surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Luisa was born on June 21, 1936, in Lockhart, Texas. On January 18, 1962, she married the love of her life, Juan Carrillo, and together they shared 61 years of marriage, building a family and a lifetime of memories. Luisa worked for many years at the compress before dedicating herself to what became her greatest joy and purpose: being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was everything to Luisa. She was a mother and grandmother who helped raise many of her grandchildren, giving them endless patience, and unconditional love. Her home and her heart were always open, and her grandchildren knew they could count on her. As the years passed, her family continued to grow, and she was blessed with great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. One of her greatest joys in her later years was receiving visits from her great-great-grandchildren. Their smiles and little visits brought happiness to her heart. Luisa also loved shopping with her daughter and granddaughters, and she especially enjoyed getting up early in the morning to go garage-sale shopping with her sisters. Those mornings were filled with laughter, stories, and memories that her family will treasure forever. And after a busy day, she loved settling in for the evening to watch her favorite telenovelas. These little things may seem simple, but they are the memories that will stay with us forever. We will remember her love, her strength, and the special moments that made her who she was. Luisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Juan; her mother, Casamira; her father, Daniel; her brother Presiliano; and her sister, Eva.
Luisa leaves behind her children, Rachel (Mark) Wiesenthal, Juan Pablo (Gayla) Carrillo, and Joe (Cynthia) Carrillo; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Margarita.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that Luisa is reunited with her beloved husband and those who went before her.
We will miss all the little things that made her so special.
But most of all, we will miss having her here with us.
Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, and Great-Great-Grandma, thank you for the love you gave, the children and grandchildren.
Matthew5:4 that says: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
Rest peacefully, Luisa.
