NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Northern Colorado women’s basketball standout Gabi Fields has been nominated for the 2024-25 Allstate NACDA Good Works Winter Team, recognizing student-athletes who excel in academics, athletics, and community service. Fields is among 193 nominees across 17 sports who embody leadership, service, and character.
The prestigious honor, presented by Allstate and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), highlights student-athletes who make a meaningful impact both on and off the court. Nominees were selected by athletics administrators, conference officials, and coaches nationwide.
“Gabi is an incredible representative of Northern Colorado, both as a leader on our team and as someone who consistently gives back to the community,” said Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kristen Mattio. “Her commitment to excellence in every aspect of her life makes her a deserving nominee for this award.”
Fields has demonstrated excellence throughout her career with the Bears, balancing athletic success with academic achievement and community involvement. Her nomination places her alongside standout athletes from across the country, including representatives from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and junior/community colleges.
A selection committee, including ESPN’s Holly Rowe and former NFL linebacker Sam Acho, will choose the final 20-member team—10 female and 10 male student-athletes—to be announced in March. The honorees will be recognized for their commitment to making an impact beyond sports.
The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team expands upon the long-standing Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, which has recognized college football players for their community service since 1992. This initiative now honors student-athletes across all collegiate sports, emphasizing their impact in leadership, service, and personal integrity.
