About the Role

The Director of the Ray D. Anderson Residential Treatment Center (CRTC) manages a residential substance abuse treatment program serving the Terry County District Court and County Courts-at-Law. The role oversees staff, operations, budgets, probation supervision, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with courts, CSCD, and other criminal justice and treatment agencies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all CRTC operations and programming.
  • Supervise a diverse team of corrections and treatment staff.
  • Oversee admissions and probation supervision, coordinating with courts and CSCD officers.
  • Manage budgets and ensure efficient use of state, local, and other funding sources.
  • Ensure facility safety, security, and compliance with all applicable laws and policies.
  • Develop and administer the facility’s portion of the Community Justice Plan (TDCJ-CJAD).
  • Maintain strong interagency relationships and report on facility operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, corrections, counseling, human services, law, public administration, rehabilitative studies, social work, psychology, or sociology.
  • If degree is outside these fields, one year of graduate study in a related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years administration experience in community corrections or substance abuse treatment programs (experience in both preferred).
  • 3+ years supervising staff; personnel management training preferred.
  • Experience in community justice plans, grants, and budget management preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment, corrections best practices, Texas Penal Code, and criminal procedure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet, and email communication.
  • Ability to work independently and with diverse staff.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Normal vision, hearing, and speech; ability to operate a vehicle.
