The Terry County Courthouse will be glowing green beginning Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as Terry County joins counties across the nation in recognizing and supporting America’s military veterans through Operation Green Light.
Terry County Judge Tony Serbantez announced that the courthouse will participate in the nationwide initiative from November 4 through November 11, 2026, concluding on Veterans Day.
Operation Green Light is a national campaign that encourages counties, businesses, and residents to display green lights as a visible symbol of appreciation and support for veterans who have served our country.
The initiative also raises awareness of the challenges many veterans experience when transitioning from military service to civilian life, including finding employment, accessing healthcare, and connecting with available benefits and resources.
Led nationally by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO), Operation Green Light reminds veterans that their service and sacrifices have not been forgotten.
By illuminating the Terry County Courthouse in green, county officials hope to send a message of gratitude, respect, and continued support to veterans and their families throughout Terry County.
Residents and local businesses are also encouraged to participate by displaying a green light at their homes or businesses during the November 4–11 observance.
While Veterans Day is officially recognized on November 11, Operation Green Light provides an opportunity for communities to demonstrate their appreciation throughout the week leading up to the holiday.
The message behind the campaign is simple: Our veterans are seen, appreciated, and supported.
