It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Gaines Langehennig, a devoted husband, father, and friend, who left this world on December 3, 2025, at the age of 72. Robert was born on September 16, 1953, in Seminole, Texas, and spent his life in the loving embrace of family and the beauty of nature, particularly in Lubbock, Texas.
Robert was a man of remarkable character, defined by his unwavering love and fierce protection of his family. He was a devoted husband to Brenda Langehennig and a proud father to his two daughters, Amber and April. Robert was always present in their lives, never missing an event or moment that mattered to them. He instilled in his daughters a sense of independence and the courage to embrace their own paths. His faithfulness to them was matched only by his commitment to his belief in the Lord as a prayer warrior, who lifted his whole family, including his 6 brothers, 6 sisters, in-laws, countless nieces and nephews and their families, up in prayer with every breath.
A gifted artist and builder, Robert had an innate ability to create and express himself through his work. Even building sets for many, many theatre productions from nativity stables to castle stairs. He chose to have an adventurous spirit and appreciated diverse perspectives that enriched his relationships with everyone he encountered. He had a unique talent for making every person feel seen and valued, embodying kindness and empathy in every interaction. His deepest hope was that every person he knew came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Nature was Robert’s sanctuary, and he found joy in the simple moments spent watching birds and admiring the trees in the mountains. He was lovingly dubbed the “personal weather reporter” by his family and many received the gift of his laughter and good-natured ribbing.
In honoring Robert’s life and values, a memorial service will be held at Church on the Rock – South Campus on December 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The family requests that all floral orders be delivered to Church on the Rock- South Campus, 10503 Slide Rd, beginning the morning of December 10, 2025. Prior to memorial, a graveside service will take place at Seagraves Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
Robert Gaines Langehennig will be deeply missed, but forever remembered for his loving spirit, adventurous heart, joking demeanor, but especially for his steadfast belief in Jesus and the beauty of life and family.
