January 28, 1987 – December 7, 2025
Aarron Matthew Garcia, Sr. was born on January 28, 1987, and went home to Jesus on December 7, 2025 at the age of 38. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Seferino and Ana Maria Salas, his father Elias R. Garcia, and his niece Alexanna Rose Garcia.
He is survived by his wife Kelsey Garcia, his children Aaron Matthew Garcia, Jr., Aryana Mailea Garcia, Malachi Alexander Garcia, and Micah Elijah Garcia, his mother Sandra Garcia, and siblings Elias J. Garcia (Diana) of Brownfield, Kaleb Garcia of Lubbock, and Victoria Garcia of Arlington. Aarron is also survived and loved by his mother-in-law Tina Keys (Chris), father-in-law Ronald Larson, and sisters-in-law Kendra Boyd (Chad), and Randie Ratliff, along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends whom he considered family.
Aarron never met a cause he wouldn’t support. As many in the community know, a visit to Aarron at Sandy’s was the first call for anyone needing a donation of food, money, or time for a local project. Arriving in Brady in 2020, his impact and presence were felt almost immediately. Whether it was a conversation at the restaurant, celebrating a Brady ISD student athlete, or coaching on the sidelines of a BYSF team, Aarron was always “all in” for Brady. His dedication led him to serve a term as Mayor of Brady and most recently, as a valued City Councilman.
The only thing Aarron was more dedicated to than Brady was his cherished family. A perpetual dreamer and schemer, he was always looking for the next opportunity that would change the lives of those close to him. He worked tirelessly to provide for his beloved wife, Kelsey, and his children. Aarron was, quite simply, built different. He loved rough housing with them, giving valuable life advice, and took joy in spoiling all of his children. He would seamlessly transition from serving breakfast at Sandy’s, rushing to dialysis, and then catering a special event—all so that when Kelsey and the kids wanted to do something, he could proudly say yes.
Aarron was a storyteller, a restaurateur, a family man, a man of faith, and a fighter. He fought every day of his life. Sometimes he fought in ways we could see, including taking on challenges as an MMA fighter and winning a championship belt in Louisiana. Other times he fought silently through pain, just to be present with his family. For him, it was worth it.
His fight ended in victory on Sunday, but we will always have the stories.
The family will host a visitation at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Church at 10:00am Friday, December 12, 2025, with a graveside burial to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. Friends may view and/or sign Aaron’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Brady Youth Sports Foundation in remembrance of Aarron’s life.
